Description
The Lamcel panels used on this project have an anodized aluminum face and an aluminum honeycomb core. Used as a soffit panel, Lamcel actually forms an integral part of the HVAC of the Link by acting as the bottom surface of the return air duct. The panel had to be air sealed at the joints to allow for this. Furthermore, the panels are only supported on the ends since no structure was available running across the underneath of the bridges. The Lamcel panels are 1" thick in order to have the stiffness to span such a distance under a high wind design load. Note the high degree of flatness of the Lamcel panels, as compared to the stainless steel trim at the bridge underside perimeter.
