| Description | |||
This project won the 2005 Cisca Award of Excellence, Citation of Merit, in the Ceilings category.
This stunning project features a mirror finish (#8 polish stainless steel) Lamcel ceiling. The panels are large, on a 4' x 10' module with only 1/8" max joints between panels. Lamcel supplied the entire ceiling, including the suspension system.
The suspension was a standard Gordon system with torsion spring attachment. The panels are 1" thick with a 16 gauge stainless steel face and an aluminum backer. The weight of the panels necessitated a large number of torsion springs for attachment. The torsion spring attachment, although unusual for such large and heavy panels, was chosen to allow downward mobility of each panel even with a 1/8" max joint between panels. |
